Freedom to Read Week Photo Contest Winner
The winner of the 2011 Freedom to Read Week Photo Contest
is Hannah DeBourke for her photo "So Many Books, So Little Time".
Hannah is in 8th grade at St. Bonaventure's College.
Her colourful photo was the inspiration for this year's poster
which was distributed to libraries across the province

2011 NLLA Annual Conference
The 2011 NLLA Annual Conference will take place on
Monday, May 16, at the E.B. Foran Room in St. John's City Hall.
Our one-day conference will kick off the APLA Annual Conference, also in St. John's, May 16 to May 19.

Freedom to Read Week Photo Contest on now!
NLLA is pleased to announce the opening of the 2011 Freedom to Read Week Photo Contest. Submit photos about freedom of expression, freedom from censorship, anything that promotes the written word, anything that highlights how essential the freedom to read is to individuals, communities, and societies.
The deadline is February 26, 2011. Check out the Photo Contest details.
NLLA congratulates Health Sciences award winners
The Canadian Health Libraries Association recently honoured George Beckett, Associate University Librarian, Health Sciences Library, Memorial University of Newfoundland, with an
Honourary Life Membership, based on outstanding contributions to the association and the profession. Mr. Beckett is a former NLLA President.
The Library Technicians Interest Group of the Canadian Library Association recently honoured Karen Darby, Library Assistant, Health Sciences Library, Memorial University of Newfoundland, with
their Award of Merit. Ms. Darby currently represents the Library Technicians and Assistants Interest Group (LTAIG) on the NLLA Executive, and she is one of the organizers of the upcoming LTAIG conference (Registration and program now available!).
